From the beginning the book was meant to be about inclusion, from then on I started exploring ideas for the main character, what would he or she be? What is the problem?
After some deliberation I decided on something more visual (like a hole) instead of an internal struggle, because this way it made the problem easier to understand for kids at all ages.
I believe that Cora will be able to help kids at various hardships that they may be going through, just as she has helped me understand myself and understand how my friendships have changed my life as well.
Desde o princípio queria que o livro fosse sobre inclusão, a partir daí comecei a explorar várias ideias para a personagem principal, o que ela ou ele seria? Qual é o problema?
Decidi em algo mais visual (como um furo) em vez de um problema interno porque assim achei que deixava o problema mais explícito para todas crianças de variadas idades.
Acredito que a Cora poderá ajudar crianças que estejam passando por uma variedade de dificuldades, assim como ela me ajudou a me entender e entender o quanto as minhas amizades mudaram a minha vida também.
